The company’s principal business is the importation and sale of tyres and allied products and the letting of investment property. We operate primarily in Kenya, with tyre operations in Tanzania, Uganda and Burundi. Sameer Africa PLC is 72.15% owned by Sameer Investments Limited, a leading economic force in East Africa with over thirty years’ experience in Kenya’s industrial and economic development and a provider of direct and indirect employment for over 30,000 people.

Sameer Africa Plc’s Net Profit Falls to KSh 46.3m
Sameer Africa’s net profit fell to KSh 46.3 million in 2023 from KSh 100.3 million in 2022 according to the firm’s financial statements for the year ended 31st December 2023. Operating profit declined by 6.5% and a 36% reduction in revenue as Sameer Africa continues to implement strategies to safeguard earnings generated from the property division. The Group’s earnings were reduced by 54% from KSh 100 million in 2022 to KSh 46 million in 2023 in what the firm says was due to unrealized forex losses due to a weakening Kenya Shilling against the US Dollar. Total shareholders’ funds increased by 10% from KSh 430 million in 2022 in 2022 to KSh 473 million in 2023.
Sameer builds warehouse in real estate expansion drive
Sameer Africa has launched construction of a new Sh260 million industrial warehouse within its Nairobi complex as part of its expansion in the real estate business, which is its most profitable division. The facility is slated to start operations by mid next year and is equipped with new technologies to increase efficiency. “This facility has been crafted to align with our tenant’s distinct needs, encompassing considerations in size, layout, features and functionality,” said Mr John Mugo, the managing director of Sameer Africa.
